What I Said Then

The technology was promising but not ready. The simulation and testing frameworks weren’t mature enough. We needed better ways to validate that these systems would actually be safe in the real world.

What’s Changed Since

Eight years later, I rode in a Tesla that drove itself 3,000 miles through a snowstorm without intervention. The technology got there. Slowly, with a lot of stumbles, but it got there.
